Jaclyn’s Drink of Summer

Hey all!  Hoping #ThirstyThursday is a still thing, because I have another drink idea to share.

Earlier this year Kelley and I got to visit Nashville for a work conference.  This was B.C. (Before Corona) and B.F. (Before Furlough) when going to the bars wasn’t as risky as it is now.  Anyway, of course we visited the Wildhorse Saloon (shout out to the 80’s babies whose afterschool care included watching the line dancing from this venue!) and while there, I was introduced to Ole Smoky Moonshine Hunch Punch.

You guys.

They used it in a drink called The Pink Pony, and it was real. Tasty.

When I got home, I had to try and figure out how to replicate this concoction for consumption at the pool, because yum.  First of all, I must be the last one to this party, because Hunch Punch proved difficult to locate at my regular stores.  But, I finally found some.  And it was worth the effort.  The Wildhorse Saloon drink had lemon-lime soda, and grenadine, and lime juice and it was VERY good.  But it turns out, I prefer the tart-flavor-punch-in-the-mouth from lemonade with the moonshine flavor.  Combine the two to your taste and tolerance, but the most important thing is to mix the HP and Lemonade with ice in a shaker to get it coooooooold.  Then, pour over ice and enjoy, responsibly. It tastes like candy, so a glass of water in between them wouldn’t be a bad plan.

That’s it!  That’s the whole recipe.  It’s my #drinkofsummer and I hope you like it, too!

*not an ad for Wildhorse Saloon or Ole Smoky Moonshine…I just like them both!
