Lit Review – Fortune and Glory by Janet Evanovich

When reading a Stephanie Plum novel, who doesn’t think about donuts, fried chicken, or two hot men?

I decided that to write about this latest installment in the series, I needed to get a box of donuts. I’m not a fan of fried chicken and I thought finding two hot men might be difficult, so I settled for donuts.Donuts

Unfortunately, by the time I remembered to take a picture, there were only three left. And, no, I did not eat them all by myself.

The last time we read about Stephanie, her and Grandma Mazur had just escaped from being kidnapped and had made the decision to pursue the treasure of Grandma Mazur’s gangster dead ex-husband, Jimmy Rosolli.

In Tantalizing Twenty Seven, not only are Stephanie and Grandma Mazur searching for the treasure, but two of Jimmy’s gangster cohorts are hot on the trail, too. And, they want nothing more than to get their hands on Stephanie and Grandma Mazur to find out what they know.

Between the hunt for the treasure and the few bounty cases Stephanie is pursuing, there is the usual cast of colorful characters and laugh out loud scenes. What I liked about this one is that there is some reflection, on Stephanie’s part, about her life and the direction she would like to go. So, finally, growth.

Does she make a decision between Morelli and Ranger?

Sorry, can’t tell you that part.

Everyone has to read it for themselves.
