Thanksgiving Cheer

This past Thursday was Thanksgiving. Usually, on Thanksgiving, we would be spending time with our families drinking wine and eating lots of food. This year, we were thrown a curve ball so it was just my husband and I.

Not that I don’t love my husband, but we have been very close lately with working remotely and all that. So I started to think how we could include more conversation in our day instead of just me, my husband, the dog, and the cat. And, I didn’t want to Zoom. Another thing I am tired of.

So the night before Thanksgiving I came up with this great idea to spread holiday cheer to our close friends. I briefly mentioned it to my husband and he was on board.

Now let me just tell you that my husband is not one to just go with the flow. And in his defense, he was right when he said that I had it all planned out in my mind but I never shared the exact plan with him. So I will give him that.

At noon we started packing up the cooler – and this is when all the questions started from my husband so by 12:30 when we left to hit the first house, my patience had run thin, very, very thin.

Our cooler was stocked with something for everyone:

Kendall Jackson Chardonnay, 3 kinds of beer – Tilted Earth, Sparta, Bud Light, Old Forester Bourbon, Peach Ciroc Vodka, Traverse City Cherry Whiskey, and a Bourbon Rickey

We were at the first house and had our first drink by one o’clock and I believe we got home around five o’clock. We finished off the beer, the wine, the peach Ciroc, and the Bourbon Rickey.

Our friends were surprised and thankful that we arrived with alcohol for a short visit outside. I would highly recommend doing this with your group of friends.

It turned out to be a great day!

Cheers!
