Lit Review – The Silent Wife by Karin Slaughter

I just finished the most recent Will Trent series novel The Silent Wife by Karin Slaughter.

Oh my gosh! It was so good!

This one brings back beloved characters from the Grant County series and it was so good to read about them one more time.

The story is this:

A recent death being investigated by Will Trent and his team at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, has possible ties to several murders that happened 8 years ago in Grant County.

At the time, those murders were investigated by Chief Jeffrey Tolliver of Grant County. But new evidence has come to light that suggests the investigation was not as thorough as it should have been.

Reopening the case files brings up memories of Jeffrey and strains the relationship between Sara Tolliver (Jeffrey’s widow) and her current love Will. All while trying to make the connection between the victims of a sadistic, serial killer. And, to catch him/her before he/she strikes again.

If you have read both series, you will love it. The more I read the Will Trent series, the more I like Will’s character. But, Jeffrey was my favorite character, despite his flaws. And I loved his relationship with Sara. So this book took me back down memory lane.

I would like to dedicate this post to my co-worker, Maureen. She was making her way through both series at my suggestion and had just made it to the third Will Trent book when she suddenly passed away.

I am so sad that we will not be able to discuss this one, she would have loved it.
