Every year about May or June, I search to see what the top Beach Reads of the summer are expected to be. This is so I can take fun, light reads on vacation.
I mean, really, who wants to read deep, dark books when you are sitting on the beach with a cocktail in hand?
Plus, there is no way one can concentrate when there are fascinating conversations and people watching happening right in front of you.
So this year, I’m taking with me Hello, Summer by Mary Kay Andrews, The Guest Book by Sarah Blake, and Normal People by Sally Rooney. Although Hello, Summer is the only 2020 Beach Read, the other two are from 2019. I’m a little behind.
The cocktail I’m enjoying this beautiful afternoon is called The Texas Pineapple (see previous post for recipe). I added some coconut rum, strawberries, and a splash of club soda. It’s the perfect addition to a day in the sun and sand.
But seriously, you should try googling 2020 Beach Reads and see what you get.
Cheers!
